HISTORY OF THE VBRGS

The Van Buren Regional Genealogical Society was organized in April
of 1987 by a group of like minded individuals who saw a need in the
community to preserve and encourage the study of family and local
history. Their mission would be achieved through the collection of
books (including privately written genealogies), manuscripts,
photographs, and other essential items of interest. This collection was
to be made available for in-house research only and would be
enhanced through society programs and events that would assist and
encourage the study of genealogy.

Our membership is made up of a diverse group of people who enjoy
sharing their love of family and local history and genealogy research.
We welcome everyone and encourage all who have an interest.
